Saturday 11 April | Southwater Readers’ Day 11am – 3pm
Come to Southwater to join in a FREE day of reading celebration! Jean Atkin will be there all day, writing on her vintage typewriter – come and interrupt her, and help create a Southwater Giant Poem which will be displayed later in the Library. There will be a Get Writing workshop with William Gallagher, pop-up performances by The Escalator Poets aka Shrewsbury Poetry Stanza, the return of the popular Story Walk with Jake Evans, and even a Write a Doctor Who Radio Play (Right Now) workshop with William Gallagher.
Monday 23 March | Lost Keys & Photographs
Jean will lead a free Creative Writing Workshop 1pm to 3pm, at Southwater Library. A workshop packed with quirky ways into writing, making use of old photographs and keys to lost doors. Unlock stories and half forgotten associations to create pieces of flash fiction or poems. Please book your place at Southwater Library 01952 382915.
Saturday 7 February | National Libraries Day 2015
Jean will be in Southwater Library from 12 noon to 4pm – come and say hello! There will be activities on offer – make a tiny origami book to take home, or contribute just one line to a Southwater Group Poem.
Thursday 4 December | Readings for a Midwinter Morning 10.30am to 1pm
Jean will read to you in the warmth and comfort of Southwater’s sofas.
Enjoy a #Southwaterreads mince pie while you listen to tales of snow and long dark nights, of trolls, trees and the turn of the year. Drop in craft session too!
Friday 7 November | Meet The Reader Morning, from 10.30am to 2.30pm
10.30 Jean will read a 10 minute short story, followed by informal conversation and coffee
11.30 Drop by and make a Mini Origami Book (takes 5 minutes, is fun!)
12.30 Ten Favourite Poems Read Aloud (bring a coffee and a sandwich)
1.30 Drop by and tell Jean about your own favourites – characters, stories, book covers…
